Talensi District Health Service

Dr Nana began working with the Talensi District Health Service in 2014, forging a close partnership with its Director, Mrs Evelyn Naaso. Since she retired in 2018, we have been working with her successor, Ms Estella  Abazesi. She is an experienced nurse and clinical services manager with a Masters in Public Health degree from the University of Amsterdam. Through the Director, we also collaborate with other staff such as the Information Officer, the Transport Manager and the managers of the health facilities  we are working on. The  Service provides health care and preventive measures for an estimated 90,000 people, dispersed over a wide area in countless small communities. The 170 nurses and 20 midwives are the mainstay of the organisation, typically having to travel long distances by motorbike to see their patients. There are just two doctors who work in the small district hospital.
